Yes, all farms now require a system to manage WHS on their properties regardless of the size. This system can be in the form of either a paper-based or digital solution. ProcessWorx offers ProcessWorxShield, an all-in-one software specifically designed to streamline WHS management. ProcessWorxShield provides a customised WHS management system for your farm, including policies, emergency management procedures, safe work procedures, and supporting documents. With its user-friendly interface, ProcessWorxShield makes it easy to handle all WHS tasks from a centralised location. It also offers an Employee Kiosk, serving as a central repository for worker WHS data, ensuring easy access while maintaining accuracy and compliance across the farm.

Having a WHS management system is futile if it remains unused. At ProcessWorx we provide extensive coaching to help you implement ProcessWorxShield. You can contact your WHS Advisor when you have a query, access the 24/7 emergency line and attend an all-day Boot camp every year to keep you on track. ProcessWorxShield also allows Farmers to effortlessly deliver WHS training to their workers with online induction modules. These modules seamlessly integrate with the Employee Kiosk, simplifying record-keeping and compliance tracking.

There are several essential records that farmers must maintain, including induction, training and licenses, contractor information, incident reports, safety meeting minutes, chemical records, equipment and plant documentation, and a list of hazards and risks. In particular we have found that farmers find it very time consuming to keep up to date with chemical records: Safety Data Sheet (SDS) and Chemical Risk Assessments. ProcessWorxShield includes a built-in database developed by our WHS Analyst, Emile Hendry. This database provides access to over 1000 chemical Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and corresponding draft chemical risk assessments. By simply entering the chemical name into ProcessWorxShield, you can access up-to-date SDS and draft Chemical Risk Assessments. This feature ensures easy access to SDS and Risk Assessments online, promoting worker safety, particularly in chemical storage areas.

Psychosocial hazards in the workplace refer to aspects of work and work situations that can lead to psychological or physical harm to workers. Examples include stress, fatigue, bullying, violence, aggression, harassment and burnout. The inclusion of psychosocial hazards in the WHS Regulations means that farmers must effectively manage these risks. To assist farmers in meeting their obligations, our Operations Manager, Marie Paterson, has developed an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) which is a professional counselling program.

This counselling program enables farmers and their workers to address mental health concerns through in-person sessions or video conferencing. Prioritising the mental health of workers not only meets duty of care obligations under the Regulations but also ensures a supportive work environment.

During farm inspections, our Senior WHS Advisor, Phillip Gal, has observed that many farms lack adequate safety signage. Signage plays a crucial role in hazard management and is required by legislation and Australian Standards. Examples of necessary signage include Emergency Assembly Point, Confined Space, Fire Extinguishers and Chemical Storage signs. ProcessWorx has developed its own Farm Sign Starter Pack specifically developed for farms and is available for purchase from ProcessWorx.
