Crisis Management

Crisis Management is the application of strategies and/or actions which are designed to help a business cope with a sudden and/or significant negative event, while maintaining business continuity. Crisis management can also involve implementing policies and procedures to defend, mitigate and prevent a crisis.

HR plays a pivotal role in crisis management, ensuring the safety and well-being of employees, maintaining business continuity, and safeguarding the company’s reputation. In many circumstances, early intervention with HR Crisis management can slow down or stop the escalation of a grievance, a WHS issue, business interruption outcomes or other serious matters

An HR function should also be prepared to provide psychological support to employees who may be dealing with stress, trauma, or personal loss as a result of the crisis or an incident. These instances are often fairly unpredictable, and HR functions must be adaptable and flexible in terms of making quick decisions, modifying plans as necessary, and adjusting resources to meet the evolving needs of the situation.

Our experts can assist you should you encounter a situation that may go beyond in-house capability.

Employee Wellbeing

Employee wellbeing can be expressed as a blend of mental, emotional, physical and financial health. It’s highly influenced by workplace relationships, resources available, and the decisions that a business makes. Businesses with a strong employee Wellbeing programme have positive traits such as clear tasks, motivation, and benefits like financial support, health aids, and work-life balance measures.

Flexible work hours, health insurance plans, yoga classes…an increasing number of businesses implement benefits like these to boost employee wellbeing. By introducing such measures, employers feel confident that staff gain a better work-life balance and feel more positively about their jobs and workplace.

To support wellbeing at work, we can provide the advisory and supporting resources to help you build and maintain a workplace culture that makes employees feel safe, and a company that feels like a second home. When it’s effectively implemented, you’re likely to see lower incidences of employee burnout and higher rates of engagement.

What makes a successful Employee Wellbeing Program

Whether you’re constructing a new program at your organisation, reappraising health insurance plans, or looking to bolster the program you already offer, here are some things your employee wellbeing program should cover:

Psychosocial hazards in the workplace refer to aspects of work and work situations that can lead to psychological or physical harm to workers. Examples include stress, fatigue, bullying, violence, aggression, harassment, and burnout. The inclusion of psychosocial hazards in the WHS Regulations means that – for many businesses – these risks need to be effectively managed. To assist in meeting your obligations, we’ve developed an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) which is a professional counselling program for businesses. The EAP is available to clients with a HR package.
