The Hunger Project: Updates on Majete 7 & 8 Epicentres

ProcessWorx is thrilled to share with you an update from The Hunger Project, regarding the Majete 7 & 8 Epicentres in Malawi. Our partnership began in November 2023, marking the initiation of the first stage of community mobilisation. Since then, significant strides have been made towards empowering these communities, and we are excited to highlight the progress achieved so far.

Brief Snapshot of Achievements:

1. Government Engagement:
Understanding that collaboration with local authorities is key to the success of the Epicentres. In November 2023, the Hunger Project organised a technical working group comprising government technical experts and representatives from various development partners and NGOs in the area. The response from these working groups was overwhelmingly positive, with strong support for the project. They highlighted the importance of leveraging existing government expertise to drive sustainable development.

2. Baseline Evaluation:
In December 2023, a comprehensive baseline evaluation was conducted to gain deeper insights into the needs and dynamics of the Majete 7 & 8 communities. This evaluation was crucial in shaping the Hunger Projects approach to ensure that our interventions are tailored to address the specific challenges faced by the community members.

3. Animator Training:
A significant milestone in this journey has been the initiation of training for community Animators. These Animators are being equipped with essential skills in various areas, including Microfinance, Women’s Empowerment, Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH), Nutrition, and Health. This training is a critical step in empowering local leaders who will drive long-term positive change within their communities.

We are extremely proud to support the Majete 7 & 8 communities in their journey toward self-reliance and sustainable development. The achievements of the past few months have laid a strong foundation, and we are excited to see the positive outcomes that will emerge from our collective efforts.
