ProcessWorx recently hosted an insightful two-day IR Conference for our HR advisory team, designed to further enhance our professional expertise. The event, led by Rob Greig of Greig Safety and Employment Lawyers, explored a wide range of critical industrial relations topics, offering detailed discussions and practical guidance specifically tailored to the HR field.
The first day focused on foundational and complex HR topics. Rob began with an in-depth discussion on award interpretation and contracts. The day continued with a deep dive into poor performance, where we discussed strategies for identifying, addressing, and managing performance issues effectively. This was followed by an exploration of investigations, emphasising the importance of thorough, legally compliant processes in handling workplace disputes and issues. The session also covered disciplinary management, providing practical tips on how to manage employee conduct and maintain fairness and transparency in the process.
The second day began with a session on workers’ compensation, covering both the legal obligations and best practices for managing workers’ compensation claims. Danielle led a session on the increasing importance of mental health in the workplace, offering strategies for fostering a supportive environment and deepening our understanding of this emerging and complex issue, which can often be difficult to navigate. The day wrapped up with an interactive Ask a Lawyer Q&A session, where the team had the chance to ask Rob specific questions and receive expert advice on complex or challenging scenarios they may encounter in their HR practice.
This two-day conference was an excellent opportunity for the HR advisory team to expand their knowledge and stay up to date with the latest developments in industrial relations. The insights and tools shared by Rob Greig will no doubt help us navigate future challenges and continue to provide top-tier HR support to our clients.
